Fate sometimes has a way of controlling endings in a soothingly manipulative manner. I knew the day had come when I woke up in a pool of petals. I didn't visit my beloved at the seashore at dawn, as it is my custom, but rather I sat on my bed wondering if what I was experiencing was real.
